Stranger Things and the 16 best Netflix original series of 2022
Best Netflix original series 2022: Ozark
Ozark ended its run this year, and it was truly a sad day when the remaining episodes were released. Like Stranger Things season 4, Ozark season 4 was split into two parts, with the first part released on Jan. 21 and the second on April 29.
The crime drama series followed the Byrde family as they moved from Chicago to the Missouri Ozarks after a money laundering scheme goes wrong. The patriarch of the family must do everything he can to save the lives of himself and his family.
Jason Bateman and Laura Linney starred in the leading roles of Marty and Wendy Byrde. The cast also included Emmy Award-winning actress Julia Garner, Sofia Hublitz, Skylar Gaertner, Jordana Spiro, Charlie Tahan, Jason Butler Harner, Janet McTeer, Felix Solis, Alfonso Herrera, Damian Young, and many others. Although Ozark has ended, it will forever remain one of the best Netflix original series to be made.
Best Netflix original series 2022: Inventing Anna
If you’re a fan of Ozark, I’m pretty sure you were filled with joy once you found out breakout star Julia Garner was cast in the leading role in Shonda Rhimes’ Inventing Anna. And she wasn’t the only familiar face you’d recognize in the show.
Inventing Anna is inspired by the true story of Anna Sorokin, and is based on the New York article “How Anna (Sorokin) Delvey Tricked New York’s Party People” by Jessica Pressler. It follows the infamous scammer, Anna Delvey, and how she managed to convince New York City’s wealthy socialites that she was a German heiress and scam them for several years. It also follows the journalist who followed Delvey’s case.
Julia Garner took on the starring role of Anna Delvey. Anna Chlumsky, Arian Moayed, Katie Lowes, Anders Holm, Jeff Perry, Laverne Cox, Alexis Floyd, and many others joined her in the cast. Unfortunately, Inventing Anna is a limited series and will not be returning for a second season in the future. However, we recommend watching it if you haven’t already.
