Disenchanted is a musical fantasy romance film starring Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey that follows the events of its predecessor, Enchanted. Adams and Dempsey return as Giselle Philip and her husband, Robert Philip, in a new story that takes place ten years after their “happily ever after.”

James Marsden is also back in the new movie, although some reviewers have pointed out that his screen time is limited (good thing a new season of Dead to Me just came out!). Apart from the main cast, Disenchanted also stars Maya Rudolph and Idina Menzel.

Despite the idealistic ending of the first film, Giselle grows disillusioned with life in the real world after living there for a decade. She and her family move to a new suburb in Monroeville, where Giselle becomes increasingly frustrated with the challenge of getting the perfect “happily ever after.” In her new home, Giselle turns to an unlikely person for help and inadvertently throws everything off-balance in the real world and the magical kingdom of Andalasia off-balance.

Where you can watch Disenchanted online

Back in the day, there was a chance you could have seen this movie on Netflix eventually, but that’s no longer the case. Now that Disney has their own streaming service with Disney+, none of its movies go to Netflix anymore. If you want to watch the Enchanted sequel, you will need to sign-up for a Disney+ subscription.

Disenchanted won’t be in theaters either since it was made specifically for the Disney+ platform. It’s possible that at some point in the future, you will be able to purchase the movie to watch at home on DVD or Blu-ray, but for now, the only way to watch is via the Disney streaming service.

Disenchanted it out now on Disney+ globally. Are you planning to watch the Enchanted sequel film this weekend? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
