Does Cal die in Manifest season 4 part 1? (spoilers)

Manifest made its triumphant return with new episodes on Netflix, and we’ve officially been reunited with the characters we know and love. One of the characters Manifesters might be looking forward to catching up with most in Manifest season 4 part 1 is Cal Stone.

After touching the Flight 828 tailfin and disappearing in the two-part season 3 finale, Cal returned in the final moments of the finale looking a little bit different. As he said goodbye to Grace, it wasn’t Jack Messina in the role of Cal. Ty Doran took over the role as Cal five years older.

What’s next for Cal after mysteriously returning home aged up a few years? Does the Stone twin make it through the season, or is he one of the casualties of season 4 part 1? Let’s talk about how the first part of the final season ends for Cal.

Does Cal’s cancer return in Manifest?

Unfortunately, Cal’s cancer does return in Manifest season 4 part 1. Halfway into the season, Cal begins coughing, but he plays it off as if it’s nothing. He continues to keep it to himself when he coughs up blood multiple times.

However, when Zeke finds Cal unconscious outside, Zeke notices how tired and worn Cal appears and talks him into seeing a doctor. Zeke takes him to Dr. Bates, Saanvi’s ex and a trusted confidante, who runs tests and confirms he’s in fact out of remission.

Does Cal die in Manifest season 4 part 1?

When Cal’s body isn’t responding to Saanvi’s immunotherapy treatment plan, she and Dr. Bates give him a few days to live. He’s set up with hospice and a bed for home to make his final days as comfortable as possible. Zeke stays with Cal as his family, at his urging, searches for the Omega Sapphire in the event that it could save him.

Although Cal technically dies for a brief moment, he awakens fully recovered because of Zeke’s sacrifice. Zeke absorbed all of Cal’s pain, which caused him to die rather than Cal. Either way, it’s heartbreaking to watch either of these beloved characters suffer or die. But no, Cal does not die in season 4 part 1 and will be back in part 2 to help save the world.
