Inside Man cast: Who’s in the BBC One/Netflix show?

New to Netflix this week comes an exciting thriller starring a few pretty big names, including Stanley Tucci and David Tennant. Inside Man, a four-part serial, originally premiered on BBC One this past September before being released on Netflix on Oct. 31 outside of the UK. If you hadn’t heard of it before this week, we don’t blame you. But now that it’s the number one show on the platform, you might want to get familiar with it!

November’s going to be a big month for Netflix, as Manifest season 4 part 1 premieres this Friday, Nov. 4, and we’ll be getting other big releases such as The Crown season 5, Dead to Me season 3, and Wednesday. But before all the craziness of the month, Inside Man is the biggest show you should consider checking out.

Without giving away spoilers, Inside Man follows two different stories — one of a criminal on death row in an American prison and another of a reverend in England with a dark secret. We learn how these two connect through the four episodes.

David Tennant as Harry Watling: Best known for playing the Tenth Doctor on Doctor Who, David Tennant, 51, is an acclaimed Scottish actor who’s also starred in popular shows like Broadchurch, Good Omens, and Around the World in 80 Days. In Inside Man, he plays a vicar. He previously worked with the show’s creator, Steven Moffat, on Doctor Who.

Stanley Tucci as Jefferson Grieff: American actor Stanley Tucci stars opposite Tennant in Inside Man as a prisoner on death row. The 61-year-old Academy Award nominee is best known for his roles in movies like The Lovely Bones, Big Night, The Devil Wears Prada, Spotlight, Julie & Julia, and the Hunger Games series. As for shows, Tucci has appeared in Feud, 30 Rock, ER, and more. He also lent his voice for Netflix’s BoJack Horseman.

Dolly Wells as Janice Fife: English actress Dolly Wells, 50, plays a character named Janice who gets kidnapped in Inside Man. Wells is best known for her roles in movies such as Bridget Jones’s Diary, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and 45 Years. She also starred in the HBO show Doll & Em alongside Emily Mortimer, and played Sister Agatha in the miniseries Dracula which Moffat co-developed.

Lydia West as Beth Davenport: Another star who’s worked with Moffat before, Lydia West plays a journalist named Beth in Inside Man. The 29-year-old actress played Lucy in the miniseries Dracula, and is also known for her roles in the shows It’s a Sin, Years and Years, and Suspicion.

Dylan Baker as Casey: American actor Dylan Baker, 63, plays a supporting role in Inside Man. You might recognize him from the movies Happiness, Selma, Revolutionary Road, or Trick ‘r Treat. He’s also been in TV dramas like Law & Order, Homeland, The Americans, The Good Wife, and The Mentalist.

Lyndsey Marshal as Mary Watling: Harry’s wife Mary is played by English actress Lyndsey Marshal, 44. The star is best known for the shows Rome, Hanna, Being Human, Garrow’s Law, and others. She’s also been in movies such as The Hours, Trespass Against Us, and Hereafter. Like some of her co-stars, she also appeared in the miniseries Dracula.
