Blockbuster star Melissa Fumero age, Instagram, roles: Everything about the Eliza actress

Who’s ready to see Netflix’s new series, Blockbuster!? The show, which drops Nov. 3, looks so funny. And honestly right when I saw Melissa Fumero’s name, the series caught my attention.

We all love her from Brooklyn Nine-Nine as Amy Santiago. The actress is a total comedic gem! And I have no doubt she’s going to bring those talents to the new Netflix comedy as well. What’s so fun is that this is also the actress’ first major role since the beloved NBC series concluded!

Blockbuster introduces us to Timmy Yoon (Randall Park), an analog dreamer in a 5G world, according to Netflix. He manages his hometown Blockbuster Video store, which is the last one of the retail chain. This reunites him with his long-time crush Eliza (Fumero), who has come back to work for him.

The star was born Aug. 19, 1982, which means she’s 40 years old. Fumero stands tall at 5’6, just a few inches shorter than her co-star Randall Park.

This comedic gem first started out in the industry in a different direction. She booked her first role as Adriana Cramer on soap opera One Life to Live in 2004. She was on the series until 2011. Following the soap opera, she appeared in minor roles as Zoe in Gossip Girl, CSI: NY, and Royal Pains.

But it wasn’t until the infamous character Amy Santiago that the actress got her breakthrough. The police procedural comedy ran from 2013 to 2021 and really is one of the best shows out there!

Other than Blockbuster, Fumero has several projects lined up including upcoming movie Bar Fight! coming out Nov. 11, HBO Max’s Velma, and animated series Digman!, where she reunites with her B99 co-star Andy Samberg.

Fumero is married! She met her husband David Fumero on the set of One Life to Live (aw!). The couple got engaged in 2006 and were married on Dec. 9, 2007. The husband and wife share two sons, Enzo and Axel.
