By D.J. Rivera
The hierarchy in the DC Universe is officially about to get rocked as Dwayne Johnson finally touches down as the DC antihero Black Adam in his own long-awaited solo feature film. But can Netflix subscribers witness the arrival of the next big deal in the DCEU?
The artist, formally known as The Rock, has become a powerhouse in the realm of cinema, lending his larger-than-life talent and charisma to several big-name titles, including Red Notice, Jumanji, The Jungle Cruise, and the Fast and Furious films. Johnson has solidified his credibility as an action star, and it was only a matter of time before he entered the popular superhero genre.
Black Adam stars the former wrestling superstar in the titular role with a stacked cast, including Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher. The story follows Black Adam, who was given powers by the Egyptian gods, as he is freed from his tomb and becomes a target for the Justice Society of America.
