The Nightmare on Elm Street film franchise is one of the most famous horror franchises in history and gave birth to the classic slasher Freddy Kreuger, who is among one of the most iconic horror villains and now you can check out every one of his kills with all eight of the movies available on Netflix.

As horror fans, it's always a good time to watch these classic slasher films, especially with Summerween approaching! Luckily for fans, Netflix just added the collection of Nightmare on Elm Street movies to its catalog, including the beloved third film Dream Warriors.

As of April 1, 2024, the following Nightmare on Elm Street movies are available on Netflix:

  • A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
  • A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge
  • A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors
  • A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master
  • A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child
  • Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare
  • Wes Craven’s New Nightmare
  • A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010)

The only movie missing from this list is the 2003 flick Freddy vs. Jason, which isn't streaming anywhere right now but can be rented from digital retailers like Amazon, Apple, and Vudu. If you’re interested in watching the television show Freddy’s Nightmares, you can check it out on Tubi TV.

Which Nightmare on Elm Street films should you prioritize? Well, obviously, you have to watch the OG 1984 film that starts it all. The iconic slasher from Wes Craven follows a group of teenagers who become victims to a terrifying stalker by the name of Freddy Kreuger (Robert Englund). This movie introduces us to one of horror's most notable final girls, Nancy (Heather Langenkamp) and was truly the birth of a horror legend.

After watching the first movie, I recommend checking out the rest in order, but you can skip the 2010 remake unless you're a diehard fan. That one is almost universally panned by fans of the franchise.

But if you're really pressed for time, most fans agree that Wes Craven's New Nightmare and the third movie, Dream Warriors, are among the best and most entertaining of the series after the original.
