Happy weekend! You’ve worked hard this week time to treat yourself to some amazing Netflix shows! And there are some good releases this week in movies and shows! Don’t miss The Midnight Club, Derry Girls, Mr. Harrigan’s Phone, Luckiest Girl Alive, and MORE.

Best new Netflix shows October 1, 2022

The Midnight Club

Mike Flanagan’s The Midnight Club releases this weekend, and you won’t want to miss this one. Based on a novel by Christopher Pike, the story follows teenage hospice patients who reside at Rotterdam Home and meet nightly to tell spooky stories.

One night during their midnight club meeting, the group makes a pact that whoever dies first must find a way to communicate with the others from the grave. Soon after the first patient dies, things become truly bizarre.

Derry Girls season 3

The third and final season of the hilarious Derry Girls is now streaming on Netflix. Erin (Saoirse-Monica Jackson), Michelle (Jamie-Lee O’Donnell), Clare (Nicola Coughlan), Orla (Louisa Harland), and James (Dylan Llewellyn) return for more antics this season.

The final season picks up where events of season 2 left off after the 1994 IRA ceasefire and a visit from US President Bill Clinton took place. It will be exciting to see what shenanigans the girls will get into next. There are seven episodes this season, including one titled “Halloween,” which will undoubtedly be a highlight of the season.

Nailed It! Halloween season 7

The seventh season of the reality baking show, Nailed It!, has been released. This season will feature Halloween fun with several Netflix series as themes, including The Umbrella Academy, Cobra Kai, and The Witcher. 

This isn’t your ordinary baking series. Nailed It! was inspired by the online trend where people try to recreate baking masterpieces but fail horribly. The series sees amateur bakers compete while trying to make replications of complicated cakes and more vying for the $10,000 cash prize and the Nailed It! trophy.

The Blacklist season 9

The Blacklist season 9 was released this week and is already sitting at number 5 on the Top 10 list. This crime thriller has 22 episodes this season.

The series follows Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader), a former US Navy officer turned high-profile criminal who surrenders to the FBI after he eluded them for decades. He uses a most dangerous criminal list, that he has complied as his bargaining chip, promising to out these criminals in return, he gets immunity.

The series has received positive reviews, and Spader has been praised for his outstanding performance.

Conversations with a Killer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes

On the heels of the popularity of the limited series Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story comes a new documentary in the Conversations with a Killer series, The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes. 

The docuseries offers another unsettling look into Jeffrey Dahmer’s killings. This time by featuring unguarded interviews with Dahmer and his defense team, revealing more insight into what made Dahmer do what he did and why law enforcement didn’t act sooner.
