What is new film Mr. Harrigan’s Phone on Netflix about?
Spooky season is upon us, and that means streaming services like Netflix are bringing us new shows and movies to celebrate Halloween! One of the new additions to the streamer is Mr. Harrigan’s Phone, now streaming on Netflix.
The movie had a theatrical film release in select cinemas starting Sept. 28, and debuted on the streaming giant Oct. 5. The production is based on a short story by Stephen King, with John Lee Hancock taking on directing and writing duties. Ryan Murphy, Jason Blum, and Carla Hacken serve as producers on the project.
The horror film stars Jaeden Martell as Craig, Donald Sutherland as Mr. Harrigan, Joe Tippett as Craig’s father, Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Ms. Hart, Cyrus Arnold as Kenny Yankovich, Colin O’Brien as Young Craig, Thomas Francis Murphy as Pete, and Peggy J. Scott as Edna Grogan.

What is Mr. Harrigan’s Phone on Netflix about?
Craig (Martell) lives in a small town where he befriends Mr. Harrigan (Sutherland), an old and reclusive billionaire. The two form an unlikely bond over their love of books and reading. But when Mr. Harrigan sadly passes away, Craig discovers that not everything is dead and gone.
Strangely, he finds himself able to communicate with his deceased friend from the grave through the iPhone that was buried with him upon his passing. The supernatural coming-of-age story tells the tale that certain connections are never lost.
The trailer shows us the unlikely friendship between the two, the bullying Craig faces, and of course glimpses at the messages Craig receives from beyond the grave. Check out the video below!
