Of the many films that premiered at the 78th Venice International Film Festival, one that stood out was the intriguing fantasy thriller Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon. The fascinating storyline and stellar cast make this feature an ideal movie to experience but can Netflix users watch it?

Visionary director Ana Lily Amirpour, whose other credits include The Bad Batch and Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities, is in the director’s chair for Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon, and she also penned the screenplay. The story follows an offbeat girl with strange, unsettling abilities on the night she escapes a mental asylum.

Starring as the leading lady with powers in Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon is Jun Jong-seo, who is known for playing Tokyo in Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area. Also in the lineup is The Office star Craig Robinson and Academy Award-nominee, Kate Hudson.

The exciting motion picture distributed by Saban Films has a runtime of 106 minutes. So far, it has achieved solid scores on Rotten Tomatoes and generally favorable reviews on Metacritic.
