We are certainly ready to dive into the 1990s and the trouble that brought for the Royal Family. When will The Crown season 5 come to Netflix?
As we get into the fall, we know some of our favorite shows are likely to return. The Crown is one of the shows we’re looking out for. It’s not on the list of arrivals on Netflix in October, but we didn’t expect that. We already knew Netflix was planning a November release date.
Just shortly after the October list was released, Netflix finally confirmed The Crown season 5 release date. There isn’t long left to wait for the season now.
When will The Crown season 5 come to Netflix?
During TUDUM, Netflix confirmed the release dates of a few November shows, and The Crown was one of them. We’ll get the series on Wednesday, Nov, 9.
This is a different day to the usual one for Netflix Originals. We’re used to Friday releases, and Wednesday releases are a little annoying. They’re happening more often than not, now, too. We just have to look at The Last Kingdom and Locke and Key recently.
This would usually be a worrying sign. People don’t tend to binge-watch during the week. The good news is we already know season 6 is happening and production has started. It did take a break after Queen Elizabeth’s death, but it should be back up and running now.
There are a few major events from the 1990s to cover this season. One of those is John Major vs. Tony Blair. It’s time for a new Prime Minister, and Queen Elizabeth will need to meet with a Labour leader for the first time in a couple of decades.
Of course, the biggest storyline is about Diana, Princess of Wales. We’ll get her divorce from Prince Charles and then her untimely death in 1997.
The Crown season 5 is coming to Netflix on Wednesday, Nov. 9.
