Who will Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey play in the Wicked movie?
The Bridgerton actor, who has a background in starring in plenty of stage productions, has been cast as Fiyero in Wicked, the main love interest for Elphaba.
Reports initially circulated that Bailey was in talks for the role after Variety published an article. But it seemed that speculation was too much for the director who took to Twitter to confirm the news on Wednesday, by writing, “He’s perfect, they’re perfect. They’d be perfect together. Born to be forever…. I am too excited to pretend this hasn’t been happening. We have a Fiyero!”
It’s already been confirmed that Cynthia is starring as Elphaba and Ariana Grande is starring as Glinda in the Universal production.
It may surprise a few people to learn that the movie has been in production since 2004, and has taken years of development to get it to this stage. According to reports, the first part of Wicked is scheduled to debut on Dec. 25, 2024, while the second part will make its theatrical debut on Christmas Day 2025.
Until the release, we look forward to first looks and trailers to come!
