The Crown season 5 is coming to Netflix and it seems the new season will be coming sooner than some might have anticipated!

During Netflix’s TUDUM global event in 2021, Imelda Staunton popped in to surprise fans with a special appearance used to tease the upcoming fifth season of Netflix’s Emmy-winning series. During her appearance, Staunton shocked fans by confirming The Crown season 5 will be coming in November 2022.

Fast forward to 2022 and Netflix used its Tudum event to confirm the official release date for season 5 which will be coming a lot sooner than we expected!

The Crown season 5 release date

As announced by Netflix during the 2022 Tudum event, The Crown season 5 will be arriving on Wednesday, Nov. 9 which is a bit of a change for the Emmy-winning series. While new seasons have typically arrived in November, they’ve typically arrived on Sundays which has always been an outlier release schedule for Netflix which isn’t known to release many shows during the weekend.

Season 5 should be an interesting one for the series as it seems we’re going to be diving deeper into the Charles and Diana era of the show with the fallout of their relationship and split.

With only one season planned after season 5, it’ll be interesting to see just how far into the timeline the new season goes but the interest in the series is already rising. We’re sure the show will be a big hit when it arrives and once again be a favorite when the Emmys arrive.
