Alice in Borderland season 2 release date confirmed for December 2022

We have very good news for all you Alice in Borderland fans! It’s been confirmed that Alice in Borderland season 2 will be coming to Netflix in December 2022! This might seem like a long time from now, but the time will fly by.

We had high hopes that we’d see the second season in 2021. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case. But now it’s been confirmed that we’ll be seeing Alice in Borderland season 2 on our screens this year.

In November 2021, Netflix announced the news at a virtual Japan Festival event. We initially predicted that we’d see the new season in spring 2022, but it looks like we won’t see the new season until winter 2022. Since season 1 came out in December, I guess Netflix wanted to keep up with this release date pattern.

Production on season 2 officially wrapped in March 2022 and the new episodes immediately entered post-production soon after. For a show like Alice in Borderland, post-production was expected to be a lengthy process. That’s why we have to wait so long for season 2.

Nevertheless, we’re just happy we now have an official release date!

During Netflix’s TUDUM virtual fan event on Sept. 24, the streamer announced that Alice in Borderland season 2 is coming to Netflix on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2022. Along with the release date announcement, Netflix dropped a super teaser trailer. Check it out below!

We had thought the second season would be given a release date of Dec. 10, 2022, which would’ve made it an exact two years since the first season premiered on the streamer. However, it looks like we’ll be seeing the second season at the end of December instead of in the middle of the month. We’re not complaining, though. We’re just excited that we’ll see the second season this year.
