After what felt like a long wait for Fate: The Winx Saga to finally return to our screens, we finally have the next seven episodes to binge through on Netflix! But is Fate: The Winx Saga season 2 appropriate for kids? Or should you wait and watch this once you’ve put the kids to bed? Find out this and more below!

Is Fate: The Winx Saga season 2 for kids?

While the original was a tween-targeted cartoon, the aged-up fantasy Netflix show is a much darker teen drama targeting a much older audience.

Netflix’s live-action adaptation of the popular animated series The Winx Club is certainly taking a scarier path than the original 2004 series — which focused on fashion, friendship, and adventure — to bring to our screens scary images of monsters, bloody corpses, teen drinking, and some partial nudity.

So depending on the age of your kids, Fate: The Winx Saga season 2 may not be as suitable as the original wholesome animation.

We would not recommend the show to anyone under 16, due to the many adult themes and dark elements in the show.

Fate: The Winx Saga season 2 age rating

According to IMDbFate: The Winx Saga season 2 has been given a TV-MA rating for Netflix. This means that this show was specifically designed to be viewed by mature adults only.  It corresponds to the MPAA’s R rating, although we wouldn’t personally rate Fate: The Winx Saga season 2 as R.

Other sites, like Common Sense Media, suggest that season 2 of the show (although it “contained more sexual content”) can still be viewed by kids aged 15+, slightly altering the original rating from 13+.

At the end of the day, you know your kids best, so you can judge the series on whether it’s appropriate or not. It might be time to sit down and binge through the seven new episodes yourself to make the final decision. Watch season 2 on Netflix now!
