Fate: The Winx Saga season 2 is officially out on Netflix, and fans of the fantasy genre can’t wait to travel back to the Otherworld to see what’s next for Bloom Peters (Abigail Cowen) and her suitemates at Alfea. At the start of the first season, Bloom begins attending the magical boarding school after she discovers she’s a fairy with powers. She meets fellow fairies and specialists at Alfea, and gets close with her classmate Sky (Danny Griffin). The two fall for each other and fans can’t help but root for their relationship.
At the beginning of Fate: The Winx Saga season 2, Bloom and Sky are still hot and heavy, but some factors come between them and cause tension.
Spoilers ahead for Fate: The Winx Saga season 2.
As Sky works through his issues with his family, Bloom starts to realize she might not have as much control over her powers as she thought. She totally loses control when she finds out Rosalind (Lesley Sharp) killed Ms. Dowling (Eve Best), and she ends up killing Rosalind over it — whether she actually wants to or not. Because of this, she is scared to be with Sky, thinking that if they ever have a bad fight she might lose control and she might hurt him.
Sky still wants to be with Bloom despite this, but it all becomes too much for her. In the finale, Bloom fights against Sebastian, who uses Sky to get to Bloom. He has Sky tied up and says if she tries anything, he’ll kill Sky.
Sky is in serious danger, but Sebastian (Éanna Hardwicke) wants Bloom’s Dragon Flame and won’t stop until he’s got the power.
Sebastian then makes a big reveal to Bloom, explaining that her birth mother had the Dragon Flame as well, and she went into the Realm of Darkness when Bloom was born. Though Bloom is stunned by this news, her priority is Sky, and so she agrees to transfer her powers to Sebastian. Just as they start, however, Beatrix shows up and stops them, and then kills Sky.
Fortunately, Sebastian is able to use his Blood Witch magic to bring Sky back to life, and Bloom doesn’t transfer her powers.
What happens to Bloom and Sky in Fate: The Winx Saga season 2?
In the end, Bloom, Sky, and her friends are safe. But the information Sebastian gave Bloom and all the dangerous situations she’s caused force her to leave Alfea. In the final moments of Fate: The Winx Saga season 2, Bloom leaves notes for her roommates and for Sky, planning to walk into the Realm of Darkness to find her mom and then destroy it.
But before she sneaks off, Sky finds Bloom and confronts her. He’s understandably angry that she was planning to leave without speaking to him in person, but Bloom is determined. Nothing he could ever say would make her change her plan. They share a kiss before Bloom walks into the Realm of Darkness. The final scene of the season shows Bloom walking up to someone and asking, “mom?”
Bloom and Sky don’t explicitly break up in Fate: The Winx Saga season 2, but it’s possible they won’t see each other for a long time. Bloom has a big mission and wants to make sure the world is safe before returning to Sky. If the show continues with another season, it’s certainly possible the two will be together again. But for now, they’re apart.
Fate: The Winx Saga season 3 has not been announced yet, but we’ll keep you updated with all the latest renewal or cancellation news that we hear! For now, you can stream all seven episodes of season 2 right now on Netflix.
