Head into the final season of Stranger Thingswe all have our wishlist of things that we’d love to see happen before the show signs off in its series finale.

Resolution to season 4 cliffhangers and ongoing storylines, happy endings for our favorite couples/characters, more amazing fight scenes and comedic moments, the returns of characters (cough-Eddie-cough)… the list could go on and on. And if the brilliance of TV is that every fan is likely to have their own unique and personal wishlist based on the characters that have moved them over the year and the storylines they’ve invested in most.

However, the fans aren’t the only ones who have big wishes for the final season of the show. Millie Bobby Brown has already revealed she thinks it’s time the Duffer Brothers start upping the death toll. Now, her co-star Maya Hawke has joined the conversation with a shocking confession about her wish to see a fan-favorite character perish in season 5.

Will Robin die in Stranger Things season 5?

Because production on the fifth season of Stranger Things has only just begun, it remains to be seen who might die in the show’s final season. However, one thing that is certain is that star Maya Hawke is not opposed to her character being killed off in the final season of the show. In fact, she’d actually love to see Robin get a hero’s death.

During an interview with Rolling Stone, Hawke addressed Millie Bobby Brown’s recent remarks about the Duffer Brothers needing to kill more characters — a sentiment Hawke seemed to fully agree with. Not only does she think the final season will bring some deaths, but she hopes Robin might be one of the season’s big deaths.

"“Well, it’s the last season, so people are probably going to die. I would love to die and get my hero’s moment. I’d love to die with honor, as any actor would,” Hawke confessed."

Okay, we’re all for some shocking deaths in the final season, but Robin? No thank you!

Since her debut, Robin has been a breakout favorite among fans which admittedly makes the character a prime candidate for being on the chopping block. Some of the series’ biggest deaths have been connected to lovable new characters introduced after the first season and it’s actually somewhat of a miracle that Robin has made it to the final season considering the Duffer Brothers’ penchant for killing breakout new characters.

And while Hawke seems to agree that it might be time for some deaths, she still defended the Duffer Brothers’ history of being gun-shy towards killing off characters telling Rolling Stones:

"“I love the way that the Duffer Brothers love their actors. The reason that they write so beautifully for me and for everyone else is because they fall in love with their actors and their characters, and they don’t want to kill them. I think that’s a beautiful quality that they have, and I wouldn’t wish it away.”"

Still, knowing Hawke is not opposed to her character being killed in the final season could open the door for it to become a reality as it sounds like the Duffer Brothers wouldn’t have to sell her on the idea. Let’s just hope that’s a bridge they choose to never cross as we can’t imagine losing Robin!

Stranger Things seasons 1-4 are streaming now on Netflix. A release date for the show’s fifth and final season has not yet been set.
