Netflix’s newest true crime docuseries has just arrived, and this one isn’t something to miss. Sins of Our Mother is a three-episode look at a woman named Lori Vallow and the disappearance of her two children. If you’re familiar with the case, you’ll know it was discovered that the two kids, Tylee Ryan and J.J. Vallow, were tragically murdered. But who did it and the reasons behind the crime are both very complicated.

Tylee was 16 years old when her body was found in 2020, and J.J. was only seven. It was a heartbreaking outcome to a mystery that’s still unsolved, and Sins of Our Mother takes us through what happened leading up to the tragedy. At this time, Vallow is in jail awaiting her trial date after being accused of murdering her children, as is her husband Chad Daybell.

The docuseries includes interviews with several people in Vallow’s life, including her only living child, Colby Ryan. Because Ryan is older and started his old family, he didn’t see his mom or his siblings often leading up to Tylee and J.J.’s murders. So where is he now? Is he supporting his mom as she prepares for trial?

Where is Lori Vallow’s son Colby Ryan now?

Ryan expressed heartbreak in losing his siblings and condemned his mother’s actions in Sins of Our Mother. Today, he’s got controversy of his own as he was arrested in Arizona earlier this month on counts of sexual assault. The 26-year-old was accused of raping his wife, from whom he is separated. This week, TODAY reports that the charges against Ryan were dropped, confirmed by the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. This is certainly not the follow-up news we were expecting to come from the family.

Vallow and Daybell are set to be tried together in court starting in January 2023.

You can now stream all three episodes of Sins of Our Mother on Netflix. Prepare for an intense watch.
