Cyberpunk: Edgerunners season 2 updates: Will there be another season?

Anime fans and those who enjoy the video game Cyberpunk 2077 are in for a treat now that all ten episodes of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners are currently streaming on Netflix. This standalone story follows a teen caught up in Night City’s criminal underworld after working as a mercenary outlaw with a group that calls themselves “edgerunners.”

Once you watch all ten available episodes, you might wonder if more episodes are in the works. As of now, Netflix has not announced if any additional installments will be made. The series appears to be a limited series and standalone companion to the video game, but you never know!

Will there be a Cyberpunk: Edgerunners season 2 on Netflix?

There has been no official news regarding a second season, but the odds are that this will be a one-and-done series. The reason is that the show has always been advertised as a “standalone story.”

However, the phrasing could refer to the story being separate from Cyberpunk 2077 and not necessarily that it will only be ten episodes and nothing more. CD Projekt Red recently announced the first official DLC expansion (Phantom Liberty) for the video game and appears to have a lot more in store for it in the future. That means there is potential for additional seasons.

The other thing to consider is Studio Trigger’s involvement. Many of the Studio Triggers shows have only consisted of one season, but that’s not always the case. Sometimes they also produce OVA and anime films, so there is potential for more Cyberpunk: Edgerunners content, especially if the anime performs well and attracts a lot of viewers.

Even if we don’t get another full-length season, perhaps we’ll get a movie or special in the future.
