Entergalactic release date, voice cast, synopsis, trailer, and more

Entergalactic is coming to Netflix in 2022. At Netflix Geeked Week, the streamer unveiled the full cast list and dropped a teaser. We’re so excited to share these juicy deets and so much more with you!

Entergalactic was first announced in July 2019 when Netflix revealed that Black-ish creator Kenya Barris and popular rapper Scott Mescudi (Kid Cudi) were teaming up to create an adult animated series based on Mescudi’s upcoming album of the same name.

It was reported that Mescudi would be writing, starring, and executive producing the series. In addition, Ian Edelman also signed on to write and executive produce. Edelman had previously worked with Mescudi on HBO’s How To Make It In America. Lastly, it was announced that Barris would be executive producing through his Khalabo Ink Society production company.

It was pretty much radio silence after the series announcement until September 2021, when Mescudi posted a tweet thanking the cast and crew of Entergalactic and promising fans that they’ll love it when it comes out. He also announced that the upcoming Netflix original and the album would be coming in 2022. The latest update was in April 2022, when Mescudi tweeted that more news about the show would be announced in June. It looks like that news was just announced at Netflix Geeked Week!

Entergalactic release date

Netflix has not announced an official release date yet. However, at Netflix Geeked Week, the streamer did share that the adult animated series would be coming to Netflix in fall 2022. This means we’ll be seeing the show somewhere between September and December. Naturally, we’re holding hope that the show makes its way to the streamer sometime in September.

On June 15, Netflix announced that Entergalactic will be coming to Netflix on Sept. 30!

Entergalactic voice cast

As we mentioned, the complete cast list was announced at Netflix Geeked Week. Netflix revealed that Scott Mescudi would be playing Jabari, a charming young man who is on his journey to find love while also balancing everything else that comes with adulthood.

Here’s the official synopsis via Netflix below:

"Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi and Kenya Barris join forces to present Entergalactic, an original, animated story about a young artist named Jabari – voiced by Mescudi – as he attempts to balance love and success. Finding the latter brings Jabari a step closer to the former, when moving into his dream apartment introduces him to his new neighbor, photographer it-girl, Meadow – voiced by Jessica Williams. An explosion of art, music, and fashion, Entergalactic takes place in the only city that can handle all three: New York."

Mescudi wasn’t lying when he said we’ll absolutely love the series when we see it for ourselves! It’s so beautifully animated and we can already tell the soundtrack will be amazing. We can’t wait to see the complete first season.
