With Netflix releasing their Netflix and Chills 2022 slate, fans are preparing for what’s ahead this spooky season. For Netflix, that means the upcoming slate from September all the way to December. A couple of titles won’t be released until after October, such as the serial killer documentary Capturing the Killer Nurse.

The upcoming documentary film is based on the nonfiction book The Good Nurse: A True Story of Medicine, Madness, and Murder by Charles Graeber. Netflix is going all in on this story since they also have a dramatic feature film releasing in October starring Eddie Redmayne and Jessica Chastain.

However, The Good Nurse and Capturing the Killer Nurse are different titles, although they fit together like companion pieces. It would have been nice if Netflix had opted to schedule the documentary’s release ahead of the film, but I digress.

Netflix is releasing Charlie Cullen documentary Capturing the Killer Nurse this November

Directed by Tim Travers Hawkins (XY ChelseaPersona: The Dark Truth Behind Personality Tests), Capturing the Killer Nurse details the horrifying history of serial killer Charlie Cullen. Once believed to be a kind and considerate registered nurse at Somerset Medical Center in New Jersey, it soon came to light that Charlie was one of history’s most prolific serial killers, with a body count potentially numbering in the hundreds.

Eddie Redmayne will portray Cullen in the Netflix movie The Good Nurse, while Chastain will play one of his colleagues, a whistleblower who started unraveling the twisted mystery surrounding Cullen.

The documentary will use interviews with the nurses who helped bring Cullen to justice, along with audio from Cullen himself. In real life, Cullen is currently serving 18 consecutive life sentences in New Jersey State Prison in Trenton.

The Good Nurse will be released on Oct. 26, followed by Capturing the Killer Nurse on Nov. 11.
