Bee and PuppyCat parents guide: Is the animated show okay for kids?
By Mads Lennon
Bee and PuppyCat is finally out on Netflix, and fans of the cult-favorite animated series could not be happier. Not only do they get to see full-fledged remakes of the first season, but the 16-episode release includes the show’s highly-anticipated second season, subtitled “Lazy in Space.”
Since this is the first time the show has been distributed to a massive audience, and it’s getting much more attention than it has in recent years with its accessibility via Netflix, newcomers might be interested to know more about the series.
Just because something is animated doesn’t mean it’s necessarily aimed toward kids, and it can be a little tricky to tell if this show is suitable for young viewers if you don’t know anything about it. Below we’ll help you figure out if Bee and PuppyCat is the right fit for you and your family.
Bee and PuppyCat parents guide and age rating
Bee and PuppyCat might look adorable and have plenty of charming, whimsical animation, but it’s not entirely a “kids” show. The series is rated TV-PG, suggesting parent guidance for younger viewers.
Netflix categorizes the series under Adult Animation, Teen TV Shows, Comedy Anime, Sci-Fi Anime, and Anime Series. If your child regularly watches anime, they can probably handle Bee and PuppyCat.
Bee and PuppyCat received a TV-PG rating because of fear and violence. There are some moments where you’ll see monsters and other moments that could potentially frighten children, although usually they don’t last long and are often played for laughs. There is also some adult/vulgar humor from time to time.
Overall, the series should be fine for kids who watch anime or even shows like Adventure Time, but since it is TV-PG, parents might want to check out the show first.
Bee and PuppyCat is now streaming on Netflix.
