Derry Girls season 3 release date confirmed for October 2022

The day we’ve all been waiting for is finally here. Netflix has announced the official release date for Derry Girls season 3 and we’re so excited to share it with you! It’s been a long time coming, but Netflix subscribers will soon get to set their eyes on the third and final season of the teen series.

Derry Girls season 3 first aired on the British television network Channel 4 on April 12, 2022. After a six-week run, the teen series came to an end on May 17. But fortunately, fans were gifted a 45-minute Derry Girls extended special episode titled “The Agreement” following the series finale.

Critics and viewers mainly had positive things to say about the special and the third season as a whole but were saddened that the series wouldn’t be returning for a fourth season. However, most people were just happy the show didn’t end prematurely.

Now, it’s time for us Netflix Lifers to see Derry Girls season 3 for ourselves. The third and final season is scheduled to arrive on Netflix this October!

Derry Girls season 3 release date on Netflix

On Aug. 31, Netflix announced the Derry Girls season 3 release date on its official Twitter account. So get ready to mark your calendar, clear your schedule, and set your alarm because the third and final season of Derry Girls will make its way to Netflix on Friday, Oct. 7, 2022!

Like previous seasons of the teen series, you can expect Derry Girls season 3 to be released on Netflix at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET on Oct. 7. Of course, these times only apply to people living on the West Coast and East Coast of the U.S. If you’re in the Central time zone, you can expect the third season to drop at 2:00 a.m. CT on its release date.

We had an inkling that the third season would come to Netflix by the end of 2022, but the closer we got to the end of the year, the more anxious we became. I mean, there was a possibility that the third season could come in 2023, although the chances were low.

Luckily, we don’t have to worry about a 2023 release because Derry Girls season 3 will be arriving on Netflix this October!
