Never Have I Ever season 3 has finally landed on Netflix and we’re back at Sherman Oaks High to see Devi and her friends finish up their junior year of high school while navigating romantic relationships and dealing with typical teenage problems. But at the end of the season, Devi is faced with a dilemma regarding her upcoming senior year.

At the beginning of the final episode of season 3, Principal Grubbs approaches Devi as she walks up to the school. She asks Devi if she’s heard of the Shrubland School and Devi responds by saying yes. Then, Principal Grubbs goes on to explain what the school is. The Shrubland School is a boarding school in Colorado. It has an intensive one-year program for academically gifted seniors. Principal Grubbs tells Devi that every year Sherman Oaks High nominates their top junior to attend the school and Devi was the chosen student for the year.

According to Principal Grubbs, all Shrubland School kids go to top colleges. So if Devi were to attend the Shrubland School for her senior year, it would better her chances of getting into the college of her dreams, Princeton. Throughout the episode, Devi struggles with deciding whether or not she wants to go to the elite boarding school. In the end, Devi chooses to stay at Sherman Oaks High for her senior year.

Nope! Throughout the teen series, real schools have been mentioned, such as Princeton University, Columbia University, Cal State Northridge, Cal State Long Beach, and Arizona State University, but the Shrubland School is not a part of the list. Like Sherman Oaks High, the Shrubland School is a fictional school created just for Never Have I Ever. It’s not exactly clear where the Shrubland School scenes were shot, but our guess is that they were filmed at the Universal Studios backlot in Hollywood like the Sherman Oak High scenes.
