Never Have I Ever cast ages: How old are the actors in real life?

Never Have I Ever might be a coming-of-age comedy centering on high school students, but don’t mistake all of its cast members for real-life teenagers.

The series stars Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as 16-year-old Devi Vishwakumar, who looks to reinvent herself at school after a year of grieving her late father left her temporarily paralyzed. She makes a play for school heartthrob Paxton Hall-Yoshida (Darren Barnet) while keeping up with her academic foil Ben Gross (Jaren Lewison).

From creators Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher, the teen romantic comedy also tackles Devi’s Indian culture, which she pushes back against to the chagrin of her traditional mother, Nalini (Poorna Jagganathan).

Never Have I Ever season 4 arrives on Netflix on June 8, and everyone’s preparing for the fourth and final season.

Maitreyi Ramakrishnan age

As the star of the series and the central teen, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan is the youngest cast member and began the series as the only actual teenager. Ramakrishnan was born on Dec. 28, 2001, making her 21 years old as of June 2023. At the time of filming season 1, the Canada native was 17 years old. But she’s still much older than Devi as the talented star turns 22 at the end of the year.

Poorna Jagannathan age

Sometimes on teen shows, the parents can be only a few years older than the actors that play their children, making the realism a little skewed. But that’s not the case on this show. Poorna Jagannathan plays Devi’s mother, Dr. Nalini Vishwakumar, and is 50 years old in real life.

Darren Barnet age

You might not be too shocked to hear that the hunky swimmer Paxton Hall-Yoshida isn’t actually played by an 18-year-old. Darren Barnet was born on April 27, 1991, which makes him 32 years old and much older than the teen he plays onscreen.

Ramona Young age

There’s no doubt that Devi’s best friend Eleanor Wong is definitely wise beyond her years. Ramona Young, who you have also seen in Santa Clarita Diet and Legends of Tomorrow, plays the lovable Eleanor and was born on May 23, 1998, making the actress 25 years old.

Lee Rodriguez age

Rounding out Devi’s trio of besties, Lee Rodriguez plays Fabiola Torres, who struggled with her sexuality in the first season before coming out. According to Famous Birthdays, the newcomer was born on Nov. 28, 1999, making her 23 years old and two years older than Ramakrishnan.

Richa Moorjani age

Devi isn’t the only one who struggles with the traditions of her Indian culture. The teenager’s 30-something cousin Kamala, who lives with the Vishwakumar family, is played by Richa Moorjani. The actress, like Taylor Swift, was born in 1989 and is 34 years old. Her actual birthday is on May 26. (It’s worth noting Moorjani is only two years older than Darren Barnet, who plays a teenager.)

Jaren Lewison age

The second boy in Devi’s complicated love triangle, Ben Gross was once upon a time Devi’s sworn enemy and main academic competition. However, the pair have grown much closer. Jaren Lewison plays Ben and was born on Dec. 9, 2000, making him 22 years old as of June 2023 and one year older than Ramakrishnan.

Megan Suri age

In season 2, Megan Suri joined the cast as Aneesa, whom Devi quickly saw as a threat. But by season 3, Aneesa is one of the gang. Suri was born on March 28, 1999, making the young actress 24 years old as of June 2023.

Michael Cimino age

Season 4 introduces a bad boy in Devi’s life, and this time, it’s a handsome “heartthrob” named Ethan played by Love, Victor star Michael Cimino. Although he plays a teenager in the series, Cimino was born on Nov. 10, 1999, which makes the actor 23 years old as of June 2023.

Benjamin Norris age

Benjamin plays Trent, Paxton’s best friend. At the end of season 3, Trent finds out he won’t be graduating and will instead be doing his senior year again. The actor behind the Trent character is believed to be in his late 20s.

Victoria Moroles age

Victoria plays Margot in the teen series. Margot is introduced in the third season and is a romantic interest for Ben. Unlike her character Margot, Victoria is not a teenager in real life. She was born on Sept. 4, 1996, making her 26 years old as of June 2023.

Genneya Walton age

Genneya plays the role of Ms. Thompson in the teen series. Ms. Thompson is a new character introduced in the fourth season and is a young substitute teacher at Sherman Oaks. The stunning actress playing Ms. Thompson was born on Feb. 22, 1999, making her 24 years old as of June 2023.
