Is A League of Their Own on Netflix?
By D.J. Rivera
The 1992 classic feature film A League of Their Own is a beloved cinematic gem written and directed by Penny Marshall. Now the feature is being adapted into a live-action series that fans will not want to miss. But is it on Netflix?
The commercially successful, Certified Fresh motion picture film starring Geena Davis and Tom Hanks showcased a fictional account of the real-life American Girls Professional Baseball League. The show will follow a brand new set of characters that begin the league’s formation in 1943. Each episode will see them navigate a rapidly changing America while struggling to keep the league going through injuries, naysayers and harsh critics.
The series was co-created by Will Graham, who was the showrunner for Mozart in the Jungle. The other co-creator for the period baseball comedy is Abbi Jacobson, who is the voice of Bean on Disenchantment and the costar and co-creator of the hit series Broad City. Jacobson also stars in A League of Their Own alongside D’Arcy Carden, Chanté Adams, Gbemisola Ikumel, Roberta Colindrez, Kelly McCormack, Priscilla Delgado and Nick Offerman.
The comedy-drama series A League of Their Own premiere was at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 13, 2022. The first season will consist of eight entries, each with an hour-long runtime.
Is A League of Their Own available on Netflix?
There’s no denying that the sports comedy series set in World War II-era America seems like a homerun from start to finish. However, subscribers will strike out if they attempt to watch it on the streamer because A League of Their Own is, unfortunately, not available on Netflix.
Subscribers should feel very fortunate that the streamer does have a plethora of sports comedy series ready to enjoy right now. Some of the hilarious athletic stories that will keep viewers in stitches are the Netflix originals Cobra Kai, Glow and The Crew.
