Spoilers ahead for Locke and Key season 3
Does Gideon manage to kill any of the characters we’ve come to love over the past few years? Keep reading to find out!
Is Dodge really dead in Locke and Key season 3?
Sort of. Dodge really did die in season 2, but Bode accidentally brings her back to the present while using the Time Shift Key. However, the Time Shift Key has a failsafe in the form of an hourglass inside the grandfather clock.
When the hourglass runs out, anything taken from the past into the present vanishes to prevent a paradox. Dodge possesses Bode and later gets wiped out of existence again when the hourglass runs out of sand. So, yes, it does look like Dodge is permanently dead by season’s end.
Do any of the Locke family members die in Locke and Key season 3?
No, all of the main characters survive and so do honorary Lockes like Ellie and Rufus. Nina’s new boyfriend Josh is also fine and his daughter Jamie. There really aren’t any significant character deaths in the final season, but we outline exactly who died below.
Which characters die in Locke and Key season 3?
Not many characters die in the final season, which goes out on a hopeful note. But there are a few losses, some more sad than others.
- Frederick Gideon – The Lockes use the Alpha Key on him and toss him back into the demon portal.
- Gordie Shaw – Gideon stabs him and the paramedics are unable to save him in time.
- Sam Lesser – Trapped inside a dying Gordie’s mind, Sam dies inside Bolton’s body as soon as Gordie dies.
- Eden – It was heavily implied Eden had died at the end of season 2 when Gideon threw her down the well, but this season confirms her death.
- Bolton and Coffey – Dodge takes care of Coffey and we can assume Bolton is permanently stuck as a ghost forever in the ghost realm since his body is gone.
- Ada and Dorothy Wheeler – They’re technically not dead, but trapped permanently inside the mirror at Keyhouse now that the Mirror Key is gone.
