Bridgerton season 3 release: When could season 3 arrive on Netflix?

Everyone’s patiently waiting for a new season of Bridgerton to make its way to Netflix. It’s easily one of Netflix’s best original series, and the period drama gets better each season. Sadly, we still haven’t heard any word on the Bridgerton season 3 release date yet. Don’t worry, though. At least we know the filmmaking process for the third season has officially started!

Bridgerton premiered on Netflix in December 2020, and many people tuned in to see what the period drama would be about. Critics and viewers alike enjoyed the first season and had mostly positive things to say about it. Once Netflix tallied the viewership numbers, they announced that the period drama was the most-watched English-language series on the streamer at the time. Then, Bridgerton season 2 was released in March 2022 and quickly took over the top spot. Well, this was the case until Stranger Things season 4 swooped in and took the crown.

The period drama series was going in the order of the books they’re based on, but the creators decided to switch things up for the upcoming third season. The first season of Bridgerton focused on Daphne Bridgerton and the Duke of Hastings’s love story, and the second season centered around Anthony Bridgerton and Kate Sharma’s love story. For Bridgerton season 3, viewers will watch the love story between Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington unfold.

On July 20, Netflix announced production on Bridgerton season 3 had officially started. Along with this great news was the announcement of three new cast additions. But when could Bridgerton season 3 arrive on Netflix? We might not have the official release date yet, but we’re always happy to share our release date predictions in the meantime.

When could Bridgerton season 3 arrive on Netflix?

Since principal photography on season 3 just recently began, we’re not expecting Netflix to announce the official release date anytime soon. However, we’re probably looking at about six to eight months of production before the show enters post-production. The first season spent about seven months in production, and the second season spent about eight months in the production process.

However, What’s on Netflix reported that production on season 3 is slated to wrap in December 2022. If this is the case, production would only be five months. It’s worth mentioning that a wrap date hasn’t been confirmed by Netflix, so production could carry over into the following year.

After filming wraps, we could be looking at four months of post-production before the third season lands on Netflix. We’re basing the post-production schedule on the second season. The second season wrapped production in November 2021, and then four months later, it premiered on Netflix.

If production on Bridgerton season 3 wraps in December 2022 and then spends four months in post-production, it would put the release date sometime in April 2023. But if production on season 3 takes between six to eight months and then four months of post-production, we would be looking at a release somewhere between May and July 2023. For now, expect to see Bridgerton season 3 in spring 2023 at the earliest and summer 2023 at the latest.
