It’s almost time for a new season of the hit Netflix teen comedy Never Have I Ever to hit our watch lists! That means fans need to brush up on everything to know before Never Have I Ever season 3 drops us right back in the middle of Devi’s crazy world.

Ever since the second season premiered in July 2021, fans have been waiting for season 3 to arrive and to reignite the love triangle between Devi, Ben, and Paxton.

Never Have I Ever season 2 finale recap

In the second season of Never Have I Ever, Devi continued to weather the ups and downs of adolescent romance. While she attempted to date both Ben and Paxton at the start of the season, she ultimately made her choice in the season finale to be Paxton’s girlfriend. Devi’s friendships with Eleanor and Fabiola also underwent some extreme growing pains thanks to waning trust.

However, the three besties end up stronger than ever as Eleanor starts something new with Trent at the winter dance, Fabiola and Eve win Cricket Queen and Queen, and Devi overcomes her jealousy of Ben and Aneesa. Elsewhere, Kamala makes her own big decision in her love life that just might have some repercussions with her family.


What is Never Have I Ever season 3 about?

Considering where we left off with Devi and Paxton in the season 2 finale, the power couple will be back with a bang as they arrive in school as an official couple. The penultimate season will continue to track the rocky love lives of Devi and her friends as they begin planning for their future with the prospect of senior year hanging over their heads.

"In Season 3 of the coming-of-age comedy Never Have I Ever, Indian American teenager Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) continues to deal with the everyday pressures of high school and drama at home, while also navigating new romantic relationships."

Who are the new characters in Never Have I Ever season 3?

Along with the main and recurring cast members we know and love, Never Have I Ever will also welcome some new characters into the mix. Anirudh Pisharody will play Devi’s potential new love interest Des, Sarayu Blue will play his mother, and Deacon Phillippe and Terry Hu will play his friends.

Where does Never Have I Ever take place?

If you’re wondering where Never Have I Ever takes place, you’re certainly not the only one. The series is set around the city of Los Angeles, California. Particularly, Devi and her friends live in the neighborhood of Sherman Oaks in the San Fernando Valley.

While Sherman Oaks is a real place and hometown of many celebrities, such as Jennifer Aniston, the Sherman Oaks High School that Devi attends in the series is a fictional high school. The series is filmed at the Universal Studios lot in Los Angeles and partly on location around the city.


How many episodes are in Never Have I Ever season 3?

Keeping in line with the first two seasons, Never Have I Ever season 3 will also have 10 total episodes that are each about 25 to 30 minutes long. While Netflix has been cutting down some episode counts to eight episodes, the hit comedy keeps its usual 10-episode order.


When does Never Have I Ever season 3 come out?

The third season of Never Have I Ever will be released on Friday, Aug. 12. As with each of the streaming service’s new release titles, all 10 episodes of the new season will drop at 12 a.m. PT, which is 3 a.m. ET. Yes! There will be a fourth season of Never Have I Ever on Netflix, but season 4 will be the final season of the hit teen romantic comedy series. Ahead of the third season’s premiere, Netflix announced the season 4 renewal, and co-creator Mindy Kaling explained the reason Devi’s story will be ending after her senior year of high school.
