Watch Stranger Things actor Jamie Campbell Bower read Lizzo lyrics as Vecna
By Mads Lennon
Jamie Campbell Bower made his Tonight Show debut on August 2, 2022, sitting down with host Jimmy Fallon to talk all things Stranger Things season 4 and Vecna. While on the late-night talk show, he also did a fun bit that involved reading various iconic film lines and song lyrics in his deep, raspy Vecna voice.
Bower’s challenge was similar to his co-star Joseph Quinn‘s, who read Eddie’s monologue in various accents during his visit to The Tonight Show. Almost the entire Stranger Things cast has stopped by Fallon’s show at this point, Bower is the most recent following Quinn and Joe Keery.
As fans of the show know, Bower portrays Peter Ballard, or Henry Creel, a.k.a. 001. He is eventually revealed to be the season’s big bad, Vecna. While talking to Fallon, he discussed the process of getting into the prosthetics for Vecna, most of which we already knew from behind-the-scenes videos.
It took approximately eight hours for the make-up and special effects team to get Bower into his Vecna get-up and an additional hour or so to take it all off. He was starting at about 3 a.m. every day on set!

But the high point of the segment came when Bower started to discuss creating his voice. Fallon then had him recite popular lines from movies and even some Lizzo lyrics!
Watch the clip below to hear Bower recite the lines from films like Notting Hill and Titanic before wrapping up with a hilarious reading of lyrics from Lizzo’s song “About Damn Time.”
As great as it has been to see all the Stranger Things cast members doing so much press and working the late-night talk show circuit lately, we’re probably reaching the end of this press cycle as the Stranger Things season 4 hype dies down.
The good news is that the Stranger Things writers have officially started pre-production on the fifth and final season, with writing underway as of the first week of August 2022.
