As much as we all love watching the best movies on Netflix each month, they don’t always stick around for as long as we would prefer.

Unfortunately, some of the most popular movies that have charted on the Netflix top 10 will be leaving the streaming service in August 2022. As much as we’ll miss having access to these movies, there will be new movies added throughout the month.

Some of the top movies leaving Netflix in August include the Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo romantic comedy Just Like Heaven, Will Ferrell’s satirical comedy Anchorman, and the non-Marvel team-up starring Wanda and Hawkeye, Wind River.

Best movies on Netflix leaving in August 2022

Although there are many more movies leaving Netflix this month (listed below), we’re going to dive into five of the best movies you have to watch before they depart from your watch lists forever (or until they hopefully come back in the future).

Endless Love (1981)

Last day to watch: Aug. 15

While the 2014 adaptation of Scott Spencer’s novel will be coming to Netflix on Aug. 16, the original 1980s version of Endless Love starring Brooke Shields and Martin Hewitt leaves this month. In fact, the original leaves the day before the original arrives. No back-to-back Endless Love movie marathons for fans!

Kung Fu Panda 2

Last day to watch: Aug. 31

Unfortunately, the 2011 sequel to Kung Fu Panda starring Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, and more major movie stars will be leaving Netflix at the end of the month. On the plus side, there’s plenty of Kung Fu Panda content still on Netflix, including the new series Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight.

Wind River

Last day to watch: Aug. 27

Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen, the MCU’s Wanda and Hawkeye, star in the 2017 neo-Western murder mystery film Wind River. The film was a modest box office hit and earned critical acclaim, but your last chance to watch it on Netflix this month is on the 27th.

Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy

Lat day to watch: Aug. 31

Who doesn’t love a Will Ferrell comedy? Of course, the 2004 satire film Anchorman boasts a cast of comedy heavyweights like Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, and Steve Carell as well, and later launched a successful sequel in 2013. The original signs off of Netflix at the end of August.

Just Like Heaven

Last day to watch: Aug. 31

If there’s one thing we need more of on Netflix, it’s Reese Witherspoon. She’ll appear in a romantic comedy with Ashton Kutcher later this year, but her 2005 rom-com with Mark Ruffalo (which hit the top 10 during its time on Netflix) will be leaving on the last day of the month.
