Actually, Uncharted starring Tom Holland is coming to Netflix in August 2022

If you’re a Tom Holland fan (let’s face it, who isn’t at this point?), then you’ll be very happy to know that his recent film, Uncharted, is coming to Netflix in August!

The movie was released in theaters on Feb. 18, 2022. And while some streaming services like Prime Video and Apple TV+ currently have the film available, it’s for an extra fee. But of course, that won’t be the case when it comes to Netflix.

The action adventure is directed by Ruben Fleischer and written by Rafe Lee Judkins. The premiere of the movie was a long time coming as it was originally scheduled to be released in December 2020. But production faced major delays due to the pandemic.

Though it’s received mixed reviews from critics, Holland’s performance received praise. And he was probably one of the main drawing factors as the film still ended up grossing $401.7 million worldwide, making it the ninth-highest-grossing film of 2022.

Uncharted Netflix release date

So when exactly does Uncharted come to Netflix? We’ll be able to see the Tom Holland film on our screens beginning Aug. 19! The movie was originally scheduled for release on Netflix on July 15 but was delayed for unknown reasons.

The action-packed film is based on the video game franchise of the same name. It serves as a prequel to the events in the 2007 game, “Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.”

Treasure hunter Victor “Sully” Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) recruits street-smart Nathan Drake (Holland) to help him recover a 500-year-old lost fortune amassed by explorer Ferdinand Magellan.

Although it starts as a heist, the adventure turns into a globe-trotting race to reach the prize before the ruthless Santiago Moncada (Antonio Banderas) can get his hands on it. If Sully and Nate can decipher the clues and solve one of the world’s oldest mysteries, they’ll find $5 billion in treasure. But first they need to learn to work together.

Uncharted begins streaming Friday, Aug. 19 on Netflix.
