Stranger Things star Maya Hawke joins dad Ethan Hawke in new movie Revolver

While it would be nice to see Ethan Hawke and his daughter, Maya Hawke, star alongside each other in the next season of Stranger Things, we’ll have to settle for the second-best thing—a comedy film titled Revolver featuring this father-daughter duo.

Coming to the big screens is Revolver, a romantic-comedy feature film. According to Variety, the film will be directed by none other than Finding Nemo filmmaker Andrew Stanton and will be produced by Ross Jacobson and Jen Dana of 3311 productions. What’s more, the script comes from Kate Trefry, the same writer who had her hands in the Fear Street trilogy and, you guessed it, Stranger Things.

What is Revolver starring Maya Hawke and Ethan Hawke about?

Variety reports Revolver tells the story of a zealous Beatles fan named Jane who, by a struck a fate, gets stuck on the same plane as The Beatles member George Harrison. Like any fan, she uses this opportunity to get closer to the musician. But how close is too close?

"Set in 1966, Maya Hawke will play Jane, a teen resident of Anchorage, Alaska. When the impossible happens — a flight to Japan carrying The Beatles is forced to make an unexpected stop — all hell breaks loose as the unsuspecting residents are consumed by Beatlemania. Jane devises a plan to lose her virginity to George Harrison, discovering that adventure (and romance) are actually a little closer to home than she thought."

Ethan Hawke’s role in the film is not very well known as of yet. However, if he were to play the role of Jane’s father, admittedly, that’d be an interesting dynamic to see.

Also unknown is the release date of this upcoming title. This is to be expected, as the film is still in its beginning stages.
