3 best anime coming to Netflix in July 2022 (and 2 continuing)
By Diana Nosa
Happy new month! Nothing says summertime fun than being able to watch loads of great new anime titles on Netflix.
So far, the sunny season has been off to a great start, as the streaming site never failed to release a title that didn’t pique the anime community’s interest. Some of those titles include Spriggan and Bastard!!-Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy-, two of the best fantasy series we think we’ve seen in a long time.
Fortunately for everyone, Netflix’s rollout of fantastic anime isn’t stopping anytime soon, which means there are tons of more amazing titles where that came from.
New Netflix anime to watch in July 2022
If you thought the three anime that came to Netflix in June were good, just wait until you see what this month has to offer.
Without further ado, here are the three best anime coming to this site in July 2022!
Vinland Saga
Release Date: July 7
Vinland Saga follows the life of a young boy named Thorfinn whose world is changed for the worst when he sees his father slain before his very eyes. To get revenge, Thorfinn plots to kill the man responsible for his father’s death.
However, weakness and poor timing constantly stand in his way. Nevertheless, Thorfinn must grow stronger each day if he wants to surpass his enemy. But with bearing witness to even more senseless violence (and actively contributing to it as well), it becomes clear that his physical strength isn’t the only thing that needs working on.
Learn more about this anime (via Vinland Saga‘s wiki page) below:
"As a child, Thorfinn sat at the feet of the great Leif Ericson and [was] thrilled to wild tales of a land far to the west. But his youthful fantasies were shattered by a mercenary raid. Raised by the Vikings who murdered his family, Thorfinn became a terrifying warrior, forever seeking to kill the band’s leader, Askeladd, and avenge his father. Sustaining Throfinn through his ordeal are his pride in his family and his dreams of a fertile westward land, a land without war or slavery…the land Leif called “Vinland”."

Uncle from Another World
Release Date: July 20
Uncle from Another World is the hilarious feel-good series you’ve been waiting on all year!
The 2022 anime is about a boy taking care of his uncle who just woke up from a 17-year-long coma. Of course, with being asleep for this long, his uncle is way out of touch with the new world. But his peculiar behavior is more than meets the eye as he somehow woke up with magical power and vast knowledge about another world.
See all this and more play out in the official trailer for Uncle from Another World right here.
Detective Conan: Zero’s Tea Time
Release Date: July 29
Last but not least, the final new anime you can expect to watch this month is none other than Detective Conan: Zero’s Tea Time!
If you love the classic 1996 smash-hit anime series, then you’re certainly going to love this one even more since it depicts the life of a character you definitely know and love, Rei Furuya.
Rei’s life as a talented detective is already pretty well-known to many, but in this spinoff series, you’ll get to see a completely different side of this man, as he proves why playing by the rules yields the most success in the long run. Also, you’ll get to meet even more of this triple threat’s peers, some of who have a huge role to play in why he lives his life with keen attention to detail.
Yep, you guessed it! Here’s a trailer of Detective Conan: Zero’s Tea Time just for you.
And with this, you’re all updated on all the new anime coming to Netflix in July 2022. But we’re not done with you quite yet! Keep reading to learn all about which anime are receiving new episodes this month.
Netflix anime returning with new episodes
Although we’re still waiting on Netflix to add new episodes and/or seasons to titles like Attack on Titan, Great Pretender, and Kotaro Lives Alone, we, thankfully, don’t have to wait too long to see the continuation of two amazing anime titles—Komi Can’t Communicate and One Piece.
Komi Can’t Communicate season 2
Release Date: Every Wednesday
We hope you’ve been loving Komi Can’t Communicate as much as we have now that our extremely shy protagonist has made remarkable progress in her journey.
In the most recent episode, we saw Komi spend the day at Nene’s house for Valentine’s Day. Nene’s siblings being way more than a handful allowed Komi to step even further out of her shell, and we were able to see the fruits of Komi’s labor when she courageously handed Tadano chocolate later in the episode.
Where will life take Komi next? You’ll have to tune in to next week’s episode to find out!
One Piece
Release Date: July 22
Without a doubt, One Piece is always a good time. However, there was something about being able to stream the Water 7 arc that left fans begging for even more. Luckily, the anime community’s wishes were answered very quickly because Netflix will release the next arcs in this anime very soon. We have a hunch that those arcs, in particular, will be the Enies Lobby arc and the Post-Enies Lobby arc, but we wouldn’t be surprised if the site added the start of the Thriller Bark arc this month, too.
Will Netflix add even more installments after these anticipated arcs? Only time will tell!
Once again, Netflix did an exceptional job giving us new anime titles. What will we receive in August 2022? Stay tuned to find out!
