It’s absolutely no secret that Stranger Things is a massively popular series. Just with its fourth season, it’s broken various viewership records for Netflix. From being the most streamed series on an opening weekend, becoming the most watched English-language series ever on Netflix, and reaching the number 1 spot in 83 countries on opening weekend for the first time.

Fans are obsessed with the series, and rightfully so. It has endearing characters, character development, interesting plot lines, and such a unique concept when it comes to the Upside Down and all of its creepy creatures.

The downside to awards shows is that sometimes even the best of shows and movies get snubbed, whether that’s winning or even just getting a nomination. At other times, the issue is that the production didn’t meet the deadline window. So what’s the case for Stranger Things season 4?

Is Stranger Things season 4 eligible for the 2022 Emmy nominations?

The fourth season is a bit well, strange, in terms of whether it’s eligible. As a season as a whole, it would not be eligible. But, season 4 part 1, which consisted of the first seven of nine episodes, are eligible for this year’s Emmy nominations.

Based on the Emmy Awards eligibility calendar, a program had to have been released sometime between June 1, 2021 and May 31, 2022. Well, the first batch of season 4 episodes dropped on Netflix May 27, days before the window closed. That does mean that volume 2, which will be released on July 1, doesn’t meet the deadline.

Of course all of the actors are uber talented. Eleven actress Millie Bobby Brown has had the most emotional story to work with over the years and has done amazing every season, including the newest one. I wouldn’t be surprised if she received a nomination for her work this year.

And someone who completely blew our minds and finally had the chance to shine was Sadie Sink, our beloved Max! She did absolutely amazing in the fourth episode, “Dear Billy.” I mean if that episode and the actress don’t get a nomination, there’s seriously something really wrong!

Honestly, if it were up to me I’d also give Jamie Campbell Bower a nomination this year! He played the prison guard so well. From the kind and gentle “friend” to El, to the completely unhinged Henry Creel. Wow. The range of emotion this actor has was really impressive!

The two leading ladies, this season’s big bad, as well as the season itself definitely deserve to snag a spot on the list. Hopefully they do, and they win! Emmy nominations are set to be announced on July 12. The 2022 Emmy Awards show will be broadcast Monday, Sept. 12.
