New Netflix movies and shows coming in July 2022

Once the calendar hits July, it’s officially summertime and that usually means that so many new Netflix movies and shows arrive to heat up the summer months.

While the kick off of summer on Netflix unofficially began with the premiere of Stranger Things season 4 vol. 1 on May 27 and then on June 22 with the drop of The Umbrella Academy season 3. But there’s so much more coming to our watch lists in July 2022.

As summer really heats up on Netflix, fans have many new movies and shows to look forward to, including the highly anticipated premieres of The Gray Man and Persuasion, as well as the remainder of Stranger Things season 4 and the new season of Virgin River.

New Netflix movies July 2022

Take a closer look at some of the biggest new Netflix movies making their debut this summer on Netflix. July brings some big stars to the platform, such as Jordan Fisher, Dakota Johnson, Ryan Gosling, Chris Evan, Ana de Armas, and so many more.

Hello, Goodbye, and Everything in Between

Release Date: July 6

Based on the book of the same name by Jennifer E. Smith, Hello, Goodbye, and Everything in Between comes from Everything Sucks! creator Ben York Jones and stars Talia Ryder and Jordan Fisher as Clare and Aidan. As the pair plan to break up before heading off to college, their goodbye might make the case for lasting love, and it all comes together on July 6.

Dangerous Liaisons

Release Date: July 8

If you’re in the mood for some teen drama and romance, the French film Dangerous Liaisons will be the best title to add to your watch list on July 8. While at a new school, a teenager faces a popular and mean influencer and falls for a handsome surfer, but she soon learns the dangerous truth of their budding relationship.

Persuasion

Release Date: July 15

Summer movies on Netflix aren’t only reserved to action-packed blockbusters and angst-filled romances. There’s a touch of classic drama coming in July with the latest Jane Austen adaptation. Dakota Johnson stars in Persuasion as Anne Elliott, and she’s joined by Henry Golding, Cosmo Jarvis, Suki Waterhouse, Richard E. Grant, and more!

The Gray Man

Release Date: July 22

Following in the footsteps of this spring’s huge hit The Adam Project, Netflix looks primed for its next massive blockbuster with the summer action flick The Gray Man. All most people need to know is the movie stars Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, and Regé-Jean Page. Sold! Don’t miss the new movie when it premieres on July 22.

New Netflix shows July 2022

Judging by the original movie slate coming to Netflix in July, we won’t be without something to watch this summer. But there’s even more where that came from with the biggest titles worth binge-watching in the coming month, beginning below with Stranger Things season 4’s conclusion.

Stranger Things season 4 vol. 2

Release Date: July 1

We’ve all been running up that hill with the first volume of Stranger Things season 4, which included seven extra-long episodes. The super-sized season will reach its end on the first of July with the final two episodes, the last of which clocks in at nearly two-and-a-half hours. See how it all comes together and leads into the forthcoming fifth and final season.

Boo, Bitch!

Release Date: July 8

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before star Lana Conor returns to Netflix in the mystery-comedy limited series Boo, Bitch. Condor stars in the eight-episode series as a high school senior who has always played it safe, but when she decides to start living life on the edge, she soon discovers she’s a ghost. We’re in for some laughs with the limited series on July 8.

Resident Evil

Release Date: July 14

Based on the video game series of the same name that launched a successful film series of the same name, Resident Evil arrives this summer as the first live-action series of the franchise. Netflix’s new series takes us to New Raccoon City in the year 2036 as Jade Wesker (Ella Balinska) battles against blood-thirsty monsters. The eight-episode first season is one of the best new titles coming in July!

Virgin River season 4

Release Date: July 20

Finally, it’s time to return to Virgin River with the fourth season of the romantic drama series of the same name. The 12-episode new season drops us back in the midst of season 3’s cliffhangers, which included a paternity bombshell and left some characters’ fates in the balance. Don’t miss a minute of Virgin River season 4 and all its twisty turns on July 20.
