What is First Kill about on Netflix?

Netflix has a good selection of vampire-centered series on its platform, but many of us have already watched most of them at least three times. We need something new and fresh to keep us occupied. Luckily, our favorite streamer knows just what we need and will be releasing a vampire series titled First Kill on June 10!

First Kill is an upcoming original series adapted from the short story of the same name by New York Times bestselling author V.E. Schwab. Schwab teamed up with Felicia D. Henderson to create a project that will surely have everyone talking when it’s released. Not only is the source material written by Schwab, but she also signed on as a co-writer and executive producer on the show. Henderson signed on as showrunner to oversee every aspect of the show’s production. She’s also credited as a writer and executive producer.

The cast includes a wonderful bunch of gifted actors such as Sarah Catherine Hook, Imani Lewis, Elizabeth Mitchell, Gracie Dzienny, Aubin Wise, Jason R. Moore, and others. Many of the cast are relatively new to the entertainment industry, but after people see them in First Kill, Hollywood will likely be knocking on their doors.

First Kill synopsis

The story follows two teen girls named Juliette and Calliope, who are from very different backgrounds (one a vampire and the other a vampire hunter), as they are given the task of making their first kill. Once Juliette finds her first victim and kills them, she’ll finally be able to claim her spot in her vampire family. Calliope, on the other hand, will gain her vampire-hunting family’s approval and will be able to join them on their missions once she slays her first vampire. But neither Juliette nor Calliope were expecting to fall in love.

"When it’s time for teenage vampire Juliette (Sarah Catherine Hook) to make her first kill so she can take her place among a powerful vampire family, she sets her sights on a new girl in town named Calliope (Imani Lewis). But much to Juliette’s surprise, Calliope is a vampire hunter from a family of celebrated slayers. Both find that the other won’t be so easy to kill and, unfortunately, way too easy to fall for."

First Kill is rated TV-MA, so make sure no kids are around when streaming the series. There’s a lot of content shown in the show that would frighten younger kids, so it’s important that you keep them occupied while you binge-watch the eight-episode first season.
