Locke and Key season 3 release date confirmed for August 2022 on Netflix

Locke and Key fans, are you all here? Netflix just announced the official Locke and Key season 3 release date at Netflix Geeked Week 2022. And that’s not it! Our favorite streamer also dropped a teaser trailer for the third and final season. It’s going to be an exciting summer!

Locke and Key is arguably one of Netflix’s best original series and has only increased in popularity over the seasons. The first season premiered on Netflix in February 2020, and fans have seen the release of two seasons so far.

Fortunately, fans didn’t have to worry about the possibility of a third installment because Netflix decided to give the fantasy series an early renewal before the second season’s premiere. But then in April 2022, the streamer announced some sad news about the future of Locke and Key. It was revealed that Locke and Key season 3 would be the final season. Although this saddened many fans, eventually, they were able to see the brighter side of things. The fantasy series would be getting a series conclusion, which can’t be said for most original series.

Apparently, Locke and Key season 3 was already planned to be the final season by creators. We just had wished that Netflix would’ve warned us when they renewed the series instead of telling us so close to its release date. But we must think positive. We now have the Locke and Key season 3 official release date and a little sneak peek to get us hyped.

Locke and Key season 3 release date

The first day of Netflix Geeked Week 2022 focused on Netflix original series. Luckily, Locke and Key was a part of the lineup, and the streamer decided to share the release date for the third and final season and a teaser.

Drum roll, please! Locke and Key season 3 will make its landing on Netflix on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2022. You can expect the complete eight-episode third season to be dropped on Netflix at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET on its release date. The episode runtimes are unknown, but we can probably expect each episode to be in the 40-50 minutes range like previous seasons.
