Stranger Things season 4 finale runtime officially revealed! (and it’s long)

There have been a lot of unconfirmed reports floating around about the length of the final episodes of Stranger Things season 4. Now that volume 1 is out, fans don’t have much to do at the moment apart from theorize about what will happen in season 4 volume 2.
Some people have said the finale episode will be more than 2 1/2 hours long while others even estimated it could be as long as three hours. But earlier today, we finally got some clarification on that answer. Below we’ll get into the exact length of the last two episodes of the season and everything else you need to know!
How long is the Stranger Things season 4 finale?
According to a tweet from the Stranger Things writers room, the finale will run 2 hours and 19 minutes. Previous reports claimed the final episodes of Stranger Things season 4 volume 2 would be more than 2 1/2 hours, so this is a little bit less than that, but still very long. I mean it must be one of the longest television episodes of all time, right?

So just so you have all the information you need regarding the final two episodes of the season, here’s what you need to know.
The first seven episodes were released on May 27 and the final two episodes of the season will arrive on Friday, July 1.
- Stranger Things season 4, episode 8 is titled “Chapter Eight: Papa” and runs at 1 hour and 25 minutes
- Stranger Things season 4, episode 9 is titled “Chapter Nine: The Piggyback” and runs at 2 hours and 19 minutes
After that, we’ll be back in limbo as we wait for the fifth and final season. But at least we know that a fifth season is coming and that the Duffer Brothers already have ideas of what’s going to happen. It sounds like the final season has been mapped out and the fourth season will dovetail right into the last outing.
