Joseph Quinn seems to confirm Eddie Munson’s fate in Stranger Things season 4 volume 2

In interviews with Digital Spy and Inverse, Stranger Things season 4 newcomer Joseph Quinn seemed to confirm that fate of his character, Eddie Munson, who has become an instant fan-favorite since his scene-stealing turn in season 4, volume 1.

While chatting with Inverse, Quinn said he was hoping to film with Charlie Heaton, who plays Jonathan Byers on the series. Throughout the first seven episodes of Stranger Things season 4, Jonathan has been in California with his brother, Will, Argyle and Mike Wheeler. So far, Jonathan and Eddie’s paths have not intersected and it doesn’t look like they will in volume 2 either.

But Quinn says he and Heaton are “pushing” for scenes together in season 5, which sounds like fans need not worry about Eddie making it out alive in volume 2! Also, it sounds like Jonathan’s fate is secure, too.

Most fans already know there is more in store for Eddie since a scene of him shredding on his guitar in the Upside Down teased in the trailer has not yet happened. But there’s even more reason to be excited for Eddie’s future on the show.

Will Joseph Quinn return as Eddie Munson in Stranger Things season 5?

It sounds like Eddie and Joseph Quinn are returning for the fifth and final season of Stranger Things. Not only did he say he and co-star Charlie Heaton wanted a storyline together next season, suggesting he survives, but when asked about if he would return for season 5 point-blank by Digital Spy, Quinn had this to say:

"Oh, yeah, I think so. I can’t see why not. I’d be furious if they’re not bringing me back."

If he “can’t see why not” I assume that suggests he’s going to live! This is great news since his charismatic turn has made Eddie an integral part of the cast already.

Will Eddie Munson survive Stranger Things season 4?

All signs point to yes that Eddie will make it out alive from Stranger Things season 4. The Duffer brothers haven’t really killed off any main characters yet and the few that have died (while tragic) were not characters who stuck around for several seasons. The closest we came to losing a significant character was Hopper at the end of season 3, but even he made it out alive.
