Is Stranger Things season 3 available on Blu-Ray and DVD?

Stranger Things has been perhaps the biggest and most popular Netflix original series in impact and scale since it’s premiere in 2016. The series has only grown more beloved with each season, especially the exciting summer season, Stranger Things season 3.

Ahead of the highly anticipated release of Stranger Things season 4, which will be released in two parts on May 27 and July 1, fans have been rewatching the series to catch up before the nearly three-year hiatus between seasons ends.

Since Stranger Things seasons 1 and 2 each received a Blu-Ray/DVD combo releases, diehards have been wondering for years whether season 3 would follow suit with a cool home video set to add to their collection. For some reason, the set wasn’t released after the season dropped in 2019.

Target released exclusive sets that looked like VHS tapes in 2017 and 2018 for the first and second season, both of which feature Blu-Rays and DVDs. (Season 1 was also released in a 4K/Blu-Ray combo set). But will there ever be a Stranger Things season 3 Blu-Ray or DVD?

Is there a Stranger Things season 3 Blu-Ray or DVD?

Unfortunately, Stranger Things season 3 hasn’t been officially released on Blu-Ray or DVD like the first two seasons. It’s unclear when or if Netflix will choose to release the season on home video for fans to collect, but there’s definitely demand for the season to be released.

As previously mentioned, the first two seasons of Stranger Things each received an exclusive home video release from Target. However, those sets appear to be no longer available to purchase from Target and have since gone out of print.

There’s been no indication in the lead-up to Stranger Things season 4 that season 3 will have an official home video release, from Target or any other retailer. The first two sets arrived one year after their drops on Netflix, but it’s been nearly three since season 3 premiered.

These sets are a must-have for Stranger Things fans who only subscribe to Netflix to watch the show and would like to have the option to do so without a subscription. They’re also an amazing collector’s item to have, given the care that was taken into the stylized packaging.
