A documentary about triple threat superstar Jennifer Lopez is headed our way on June 14. Honestly, how hasn’t there been one made before? The Netflix film, Jennifer Lopez: Halftime, has me so hyped!

The celebrity made a breakthrough as an actress in 1997 with her biopic, Selena. But that’s not all she can do. She’s also a very talented dancer and singer. The film, directed by Amanda Micheli, will take a look at the determination that makes Lopez who she is — from performances onscreen and on stages, her Super Bowl Halftime Show, and taking part in the Presidential inauguration.

Netflix previously shared that Halftime serves as the kickoff to the second half of Lopez’s life as she show us her evolution as a Latina, a mother, and an artist. An important part is also how she took agency in her career and wanting to be taken more seriously.

There’s so much happening, and the trailer released on May 18 gave us even more. And that includes J.Lo’s fiancé, actor Ben Affleck, making an appearance.

Ben Affleck in Jennifer Lopez: Halftime trailer

A large part of the trailer portrays the negative things the media has said about the superstar and how she’s been highly scrutinized in the public eye. Lopez has previously said one reason for her breakup with Affleck in 2004 was due to the high media attention. But now the two have obviously found a way to navigate it together as they’re engaged, which is so exciting!

At the 44-second mark in the trailer, her fiancé says that he’s asked her before whether it bothers her. And she told Affleck the criticism and scrutiny is what she expected. We’re probably going to see him defend his girl in the documentary and support his lady love!

Bennifer was an item from mid-2002 to early 2004. The two met on the set of Gigli and later worked together on Lopez’s “Jenny from the Block” music video and the film Jersey Girl. They were engaged, but it didn’t work out the first time around. But in April 2021, the couple reconciled and are going stronger than ever!

Jennifer Lopez: Halftime will be available to stream on Netflix beginning June 14.
