A new heist drama is coming to Netflix in the new year that is like no other. Kaleidoscope is created by Eric Garcia, who also serves as showrunner, writer, and executive producer.

Joining him with EP duties are Russell Fine, Fred Berger, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Justin Levy, Ridley Scott, David W. Zucker, Jordan Sheehan, Clayton Krueger, and writer Garrett Lerne. Fellow writers on the series include Evan Endicott, Josh Stoddard, Ning Zhou, Kalen Egan, and Kate Barnow.

Here’s everything we know about the show!

Kaleidoscope release date

The heist anthology series will be released Sunday, Jan. 1 at 12 a.m. PT/3 a.m. ET on Netflix. There are a total of eight episodes, but you won’t be watching them all in order. That’s right, this show comes with a big twist!

According to Netflix, each person watching will have a unique and different viewing experience. The order in which you watch the episodes will give you a different viewpoint of the story and its characters. For example, each episode is named after a color. Some may begin their binge with “Yellow,” while others get “Orange” as their first episode, Netflix’s TUDUM shares.

Here is a list of all the episodes and their titles:

  • “Yellow: 6 Weeks Before The Heist”
  • “Green: 7 Years Before the Heist”
  • “Blue: 5 Days Before the Heist”
  • “Violet: 24 Years Before the Heist”
  • “Orange: 3 Weeks Before the Heist”
  • “Red: The Morning After the Heist”
  • “Pink: 6 Months After”
  • “White: The Heist” (finale)

It’s a very unique concept and it will be interesting to see just how it works, how viewers will take to the story, and if the Netflix audience likes this nonsequential format.

Kaleidoscope synopsis

The anthology series takes us into the minds of a crew of masterful thieves who are trying to get into a seemingly unbreakable vault, with vast amounts of money waiting for them, Netflix shares. The vault is guarded by the world’s most powerful corporate security team.

According to the streamer, you can expect a story about corruption, greed, vengeance, scheming, loyalties, and betrayals. The crime drama tells the tale over 25 years and is loosely inspired by the real-life story of when $70 billion in bonds went missing during Hurricane Sandy in Manhattan.
