Young Royals is now streaming on Netflix! The new Netflix original series premiered on Thursday, July 1, 2021 and was quickly renewed for a second season.

After fans binge-watched the first season of the new series on Netflix, everyone is wondering when the Young Royals season 2 release date will be. It looks like fans will have to keep waiting, though it might not be too much longer of a wait now.

Netflix ordered Young Royals season 2 in September 2021 with the promise that the season would be released in 2022. Right now, it’s still on track to be one of the best releases of the year.

Young Royals season 2 release date

Thankfully, Netflix renewed Young Royals for season 2 and teased that it would be released in 2022. On July 1, Netflix announced on its official Twitter page that the second season will be coming to the streamer sometime in November 2022.

Netflix made true on that promise and announced on Sept. 30 that Young Royals season 2 premieres on Nov. 1. Talk about keeping a promise! The fan-favorite teen series adds to an already packed fall lineup for Netflix that also includes Manifest, Dead to Me, Wednesday, and more.

Although Netflix hasn’t provided the full casting announcement for season 2, we know without a doubt that we will be reunited with Wilhelm and Simon will be back for more!

It’s not hard to assume that the main cast will return for season 2. We shared the season 1 main cast members who are returning for season 2:

Young Royals season 2 filming status

The second season of Young Royals started filming in February 2022 as announced in a promotional video with the series leads. On May 11, Netflix announced on Twitter that filming on the new episodes have officially wrapped.

Post-production can often take up to six months on Netflix shows, which would bring the season 2 release into November 2022. But it’s a great sign that filming has wrapped ahead of summer, and we’re sure to be in for more updates from the cast and Netflix leading up to an announcement.

Along with the exciting announcement of the Nov. 1 release date, Netflix also gave fans a first look at the new season. However, the streamer did one better than releasing a trailer. Instead, they dropped the first four minutes of the Young Royals season 2 premiere episode.
