We’re about three months away from the debut of Netflix’s highly-anticipated Resident Evil series and in light of that update, I’ve got some excellent news for franchise fans. The first official Resident Evil teaser for the series is HERE. Yes, below you can find the teaser for the first live-action series of the legendary horror franchise.

Before we get to the new footage, let’s recap what we know about the upcoming show so far. The all-new series brings the best of the Resident Evil Universe DNA forward, complete with bad-ass heroines, terrifying creatures (a mixture of new and familiar), a battle for survival, questions about what it means to be family; Umbrella Corporation’s greed and corruption; and of course, a deep mystery to unravel.

Former Supernatural writer, story editor and executive producer Andrew Dabb serves as the creator, writer and executive producer for the show. Dabb has worked hard to expand the franchise into a new direction with bone-chilling horror, fresh storytelling and plenty of spectacle perfect for summer binge-watching.

The series stars Lance Reddick as Albert Wesker, Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph, Paola Nuñez, Ahad Raza Mir, Connor Gossatti and Turlough Convery.

And here is the logline, courtesy of Netflix:

"Year 2036 – 14 years after a deadly virus caused a global apocalypse, Jade Wesker fights for survival in a world overrun by the blood-thirsty infected and insane creatures. In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, by her father’s chilling connections to the Umbrella Corporation but mostly by what happened to her sister, Billie."

The first season will consist of eight, 1-hour episodes.

Resident Evil teaser debut

The teaser opens with someone driving two young girls named Billie (Siena Agudong) and Jade (Tamara Smart), home. Billie and Jade are Albert Wesker’s daughters. At least, Jade is and I’m assuming Billie is, too, since the logline says Jade will be looking for her sister.

It seems like the show will follow two timelines, one set in 2022 and one set in 2036. In the future, the virus has already devoured the earth and Jade is haunted by her past as she tries to find out what happened to Billie.

The teaser starts in New Raccoon City in 2022 and appears to show Albert experimenting with what we know will later become the C-Virus (or some version of it). Then we skip ahead to London, 2036 and it looks like Ella Balinska is playing an older version of Jade. The teaser also shows us some glimpses of the infected and what appears to be some zombie dogs!
