Hannah Simone movies and shows after New Girl

On any other sitcom, Cece would have been the face of New Girl. She’s a model who can’t find love, and isn’t that a compelling logline for a romantic comedy? Even though Cece began as just the “best friend” character of the series, it was clear from day one that Hannah Simone had much more to offer than advice scenes that move the plot forward. As the series progressed, Cece became an integral and irreplaceable member of the loft gang. Who else would put Schmidt in his place day in and day out and reel Winston in during their mess arounds?

Hannah Simone might have been the freshest face at the start of New Girl. Apart from a few bit parts in shows like Kevin Hill and Beautiful People in the mid-2000s, Simone made very few appearances on TV. She attended the University of British Columbia and worked as a human rights and refugees officer in United Kingdom, and following her time at Ryerson University in 2005, Simone became the host of Space for Living on HGTV Canada. She’s also worked as a VJ for MuchMusic in Canada and hosted the Syfy series WCG Ultimate Gamer.

During her time on New Girl, Simone appeared in the films Oldboy, Lemonade, Flock of Dudes, Folk Hero & Funny Guy, Band Aid, and Killing Gunther. After hosting Fox’s short-lived competition series Kicking & Screaming in 2017 and saying goodbye to Cece in the final season, Simone scored the lead role in ABC’s planned reboot of The Greatest American Hero, but the network didn’t pick the pilot up to series. Simone married former E! News personality Jesse Giddings in 2016 and welcomed their first child in 2017.

Following her time on New Girl, Simone returned to TV on ABC’s sitcom Single Parents for three episodes, which was also created by Elizabeth Meriwether. She also appeared in Weird City, The Unauthorized Bash Brother Experience, and voices Pinky in Mira, Royal Detective. Fans can also hear Simone in Welcome to Our Show with Deschanel and Morris.
