New Netflix movies and shows: May 1, 2022

May is finally here and as it’s the first of the month, that means Netflix is adding a ton of new movies and shows to their lineup. The new additions include quite a few romance movies, a couple of franchises, and a few classics.

Let’s start with the romance. Netflix is bringing 40-Love, Crazy, Stupid, Love, The Lake House, When Harry Met Sally, and You’ve Got Mail on May 1. If you are in the mood to binge-watch a bunch of romance movies, this is the perfect opportunity.

There are also a few franchises being added to the Netflix lineup. The first is the Jackass franchise. Jackass: The Movie, Jackass 2.5, and Jackass 3.5 are all available to stream now that May is here. If you just saw Jackass Forever and are looking for similar movies, why not take a look back at what the guys were doing over a decade ago?

There are also a couple of Rambo movies available to stream on May 1 as well. Rambo and Rambo: Last Blood are both being added to Netflix. They both feature Sylvester Stallone as Rambo, the veteran Green Beret who is willing to do anything to save the people he loves but also suffers from PTSD due to the torture he faced during the Vietnam War.

There are also quite a few classic films on Netflix now that May is here.  These classics include Forrest Gump, Dirty Harry, Road to Perdition, John Q, and War of the Worlds. This War of the Worlds isn’t the original (it’s the one with Tom Cruise), but the story is still a classic one. And if you don’t think John Q is a classic, you are wrong.

The 2020 Guy Ritchie film The Gentlemen is also available to stream on the first of May. The movie stars Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Michelle Dockery, Jeremy Strong, Colin Farrell, Henry Golding, and Hugh Grant.
