White Hot: The Rise and Fall of Abercrombie & Fitch is the latest Netflix documentary that will have everyone talking. While it’s not a true crime doc in the same vein of Bad Vegan and Crypto King, White Hot still delivers some of the same shocking moments.

The documentary peels back the layers of the beginnings of the clothing brand Abercrombie & Fitch, which rose to prominence in the late 1990s and early 2000s as a cultural touchstone of a specific demographic of young adults in America.

However, over the years, a history of exclusion, discrimination, and other major problematic controversies plagued the brand and tainted the otherwise “white hot” sheen of its so-called aspirational marketing and influential image (down to its signature, all-encompassing scent).

You might be surprised to hear about some of the revelations throughout the White Hot documentary, which exposes the truth beyond Abercrombie & Fitch’s past. But you’ll be pleased to hear some of the best throwback songs in the documentary’s soundtrack.

Even though the content of the Abercrombie & Fitch documentary can be extremely troubling, the film’s revelations are soundtracked with some of the best throwback songs from the brand’s heyday, such as “My Own Worst Enemy” and “Steal My Sunshine.”

Check out the full list of songs you will hear in the White Hot soundtrack:

  • “My Own Worst Enemy” by Lit
  • “Steal My Sunshine” by Len
  • “Self Esteem” by The Offspring
  • “Low” by Cracker
  • “Popular” by Nada Surf
  • “Say Goodbye to Your Generation” by The Methadones
  • “Bright Lines” by Amy Aileen Wood and Donnie Sharp

It’s difficult to tonally to balance the serious subject matter that White Hot lays out with a throwback soundtrack, but the film succeeds in allowing the music to inject a bit of lightness in the otherwise stark revelations the doc provides.

If you were looking for the songs featured in the Abercrombie & Fitch documentary and needed a refresher on these throwbacks, there’s the full list of songs you can hear in the film on Netflix. Thankfully, you can listen to these songs without getting an Abercrombie cologne headache.
