Human Resources is officially returning for another season on Netflix! We previously reported that the streamer had renewed the series for a second season. Human Resources season 2 will be on Netflix this year and in fact, very soon! Sadly, season 2 will also be the final season of Human Resources, but Netflix has said that any remaining storylines in the sophomore season will be wrapped up in Big Mouth‘s new episodes.

In addition to the Big Mouth spinoff getting renewed, Big Mouth also scored a seventh and final season pickup, with season 6 set to debut sometime later this year. We don’t know a lot about what will happen in Human Resources season 2 just yet since the renewal news just came out, but what we do know we’ve compiled into the article below. Keep reading to find out all the details!

Human Resources season 2 release date

On May 1, Netflix announced that Human Resources season 2 would officially be premiering on Friday, June 9, 2023!

Human Resources season 2 cast

This we do know! Netflix revealed that the entire cast of series regulars would be returning for the second season. I’m sure some new actors will also join to round out the cast and bring some new characters into the fold, too, but we probably won’t learn about new casting announcements until later.

Here’s the confirmed season 2 cast so far:

  • Nick Kroll as Maury the Hormone Monster
  • Maya Rudolph as Connie the Hormone Monstress
  • Aidy Bryant as Emmy the Lovebug
  • Randall Park as Pete the Logic Rock
  • Keke Palmer as Rochelle the Lovebug
  • Brandon Kyle Goodman as Walter the Lovebug
  • David Thewlis as The Shame Wizard

In addition to the main cast, the series will also feature returning guest stars:

  • Hugh Jackman as Dante the Addiction Angel
  • Pamela Adlon as Sonya the Lovebug
  • Rosie Perez as Petra the Ambition Gremlin
  • Henry Winkler as Keith from Grief
  • Thandiwe Newton as Mona the Hormone Monstress
  • Jemaine Clement as Simon Sex
  • Maria Bamford as Tito the Anxiety Mosquito
  • Bobby Cannavale as Gavin the Hormone Monster
  • Cole Escola as Montel the Hormone Monster

And some exciting new guest stars have been added to season 2!

  • Florence Pugh
  • Miley Cyrus
  • Eugene Levy
  • Sam Richardson
  • Niecy Nash-Betts
  • Jason Mantzoukas
  • Isabella Rossellini

Human Resources season 2 synopsis

We don’t have an official synopsis for the sophomore season yet, but we know that the first season ended with Emmy finally finding her groove as a Lovebug, so much so that she was overwhelmed with client requests in the final moments of the season 1 finale.

I’m sure we’ll also find out what’s going to happen between Maury and Connie now that Maury is pregnant and Connie is firmly against having a baby. The end of season 1 left them broken up and in the middle of a nasty fight after Maury chose the baby over Connie.

Overall, season 2 should bring us more of the characters we’ve come to love as they try to navigate their jobs and clients! Stay tuned to Netflix Life for more details on the second season.

Here’s what Netflix has shared:

"From the inventive minds that brought us the award winning adult animation favorite Big Mouth comes the even edgier and adult-ier Human Resources. The spin-off pulls back the curtain on the daily lives of the creatures – Hormone Monsters, Depression Kitties, Shame Wizards and many more – that help humans journey through every aspect of life from puberty to parenthood to the twilight years. It quickly becomes clear that though the protagonists are creatures, they have a lot of humanity themselves.Featuring an all-star voice cast— including Nick Kroll, Maya Rudolph and David Thewlis reprising their Big Mouth roles as well as Aidy Bryant, Brandon Kyle Goodman, Keke Palmer, and Randall Park among others — Human Resources is not your normal day at the office. The series is co-created and executive produced by Kelly Galuska, Nick Kroll, Andrew Goldberg, Jennifer Flackett and Mark Levin."
