Netflix releasing horrifying new documentary about former fertility doctor Donald Cline

Netflix has just announced one of its next big true crime documentary films, Our Father. Releasing this May, the upcoming documentary directed by Lucie Jordan will examine the former fertility doctor Donald Cline, a man who secretly inseminated countless women with his sperm during the artificial insemination process.

April has been a great month for true crime fans with upcoming releases like The John Wayne Gacy Tapes, White Hot: The Rise & Fall of Abercrombie & Fitch and The Secrets of Marilyn Monroe. It looks like May is shaping up to be just as exciting now with the release of Our Father and several other documentaries on the horizon, like the Jennifer Lopez feature coming in June.

This particular film certainly won’t be for the faint of heart as what Dr. Cline did was absolutely horrific. It looks like this doc will give his victims the chance to speak out and try to figure out how Cline got away with his crime for so long.

This investigative documentary will be released on Wednesday, May 11 at 12:00 a.m. PT / 3:00 a.m. ET.

Our Father synopsis

The film begins with Jacoba Ballard ordering an at-home DNA test, leading to her discovery of seven half-siblings. Jacoba works with her newfound family members to learn more about their strange family tree and soon learn the disturbing truth: their parents’ fertility doctor was inseminating his patients with his sperm without their knowledge or consent.

"Jacoba Ballard was an only child, conceived via donor sperm, who always dreamed of having a brother or sister. An at-home DNA test led her to the discovery of not one but seven half-siblings – a number that defied best practices in fertility medicine. As the group set out to learn more about their curious family tree, they soon discovered the sickening truth: Their parents’ fertility doctor had been inseminating his patients with his own sperm – without their knowledge or consent. As Ballard and her newfound siblings realized they’ve barely begun to untangle his dark web of deceit, their pursuit of justice lies at the heart of this profoundly unsettling story about an unimaginable breach of trust."
